I recently completed a project with another volunteer to get toothbrushes for all the kids in the orphanage where I visited this summer to play and talk about health. The other volunteer did most of the legwork (Bravo, Shanno Reed!), but delivered me a huge stack of toothbrushes which I then had to take over to the neighboring village and hand out to the kids.
I went over with MacKenzie because he has been helping me out with the game days at the orphanage, and we conducted a little lesson about dental hygiene outside. Then we passed out the brushes and practiced brushing our
teeth. I posted photos below. Nothing spectacular, but there it is. We only had about 6 or 7 kids who were able to come to the lesson we did but the rest of the kids got the toothbrushes handed out to them later that day and we left the lesson plans with the orphanage to distribute to the supervisors to talk to the kids about it later.
It was small but at least it’s something J Noapte buna!
